This is a graduate / soon to graduate, Full-time position based in our Newcastle or Port Macquarie Office, but travel to our other offices throughout NSW and the ACT may be required at times. This role requires the applicant to have a strong understanding of the principles of civil / structural engineering.

The primary role of the Graduate Engineer will be to assist the Senior Engineers in preparing civil, structural and geotechnical documentation for projects such as new residential / commercial developments, renovations / additions, swimming pool and retaining wall projects which will involve you to take and understand instructions, work under minimal supervision, present calculations and documentation in a clear and concise manner and discuss technical assumptions and decisions. The role will require working from the office as well as field work on a regular basis for investigations and inspections.

We seek an individual with:

• Graduated or about to graduate university with Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours).

• High level of academic achievement at University.

• Excellent report writing and communication skills, including communicating with clients.

• Well-developed problem-solving skills.

• Show initiative.

• Take and follow instructions.

• Ability to work independently under minimal supervision and as part of a team.

• Present calculations and documentation in a clear and concise manner.

• Pride in their work.

• Attention to detail is essential.

• AutoCAD experience.

• Understanding of current Australian Standards and the Building Code of Australia.

• Driver's license.

 

This is a Permanent Full-Time position; therefore, you must already have a Permanent Australian Residency Status.
